Bath Boards (1 - 10 of 10)
Bath Boards Safety information.
It is important that the board fits across your bath and that your bath has a 'lip' of at least 37mm (1.5 inches) on the wall side. Make sure that the board you choose won't overlap the edge by more than 50mm (2") of the bath as this could cause it to become unstable during use. Boards with drainage holes, slots or perforations lessen the chances of slipping. Grab rails fixed either to the bath or close by are an additional means of support when getting in and out of the bath. You must check the brackets regularly to ensure that they are wedged firmly against the side of the bath. Check the maximum user weight before ordering
Additional Bath Boards information.
Bath boards provide a safe and stable way of getting in and out of the bath. They are of particular help to people who find it difficult to get over the side of the bath. To get into the bath, you sit on the board with your feet outside the bath, you then slide further over the bath and swing your legs into the bath. Once you are sat on the middle of the board you are able to lower yourself into the water or on to the bath seat.
Padded bath boards may be more comfortable if you are thin or intend to sit on the board for long periods. It is also important that you choose the right sized board and ensure that it will support your weight. We give full size and weight bearing specifications on our bath boards page. Wider boards give you more security and support.
